For any successful change in provision and outcome to be sustainable within a school , then there must be some consistency of approach across all of the school. Where race equality and social justice issues are concerned, then this is a must. If all staff in school challenge all forms of racist behaviour; the curriculum reflects the contribution of different cultures to today's society positively; and there is a supportive ethos for those who are different, achievement of all pupils will be enhanced.

Another web-site that is well worth look at is the Runneymede Trust. On this web-site you will find reports on race equality, asylum seekers social and social cohesion. Some of the research papers could be used by Key Stage 3/4 students in their PSHE lessons.

School Without Racism a European project to combat racism
Trial and Error A highly recommended new resource from Stella Dadzie, aimed at 11 to 16 year olds. This CD-ROM fills a gap in resources in helping schools to deal with issues of racism and prejudice.
